Job Description Summary

               

This position is responsible for helping to drive the line leadership model focusing on top losses and 30/60/90 day plans.  Additionally, will be responsible for evaluating work processes to determine strategies and programs which provide greater productivity and efficiency of company functions by performing the following duties.

Under the direction of the Production Superintendent in support of the Continuous Improvement process and pillars, the successful candidate for this position will be responsible for learning, understanding and implementing the Continuous Improvement standards. The successful candidate must also take a lead in embracing the pillar structure and managing tasks within the specific pillars as assigned. The CPS pillars include Environment Health and Safety, Autonomous Manufacturing Development AMD, Continuous Skills Development, Planned Maintenance, Focused Improvement, Lean Supply Chain, Early Management, Food Safety and Quality, and Zero Loss Analytics. The Continuous Improvement process is a cross-departmental approach to managing the plant to improve performance in safety, productivity, cost, quality, delivery, and engagement.

The position requires proficient skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as an ability to learn proprietary ConAgra and Lamb Weston programs. The successful candidate must exhibit a willingness to learn, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, exemplary personal character, and a positive historical work performance. The position also requires solid knowledge of plant operations and an ability to train, audit, or evaluate peers and work directly with management as necessary. Some travel may be required.

Job Description

  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures Be actively involved in safety, participate in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, perform risk assessments and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.   

  • Gathers information to evaluate current work processes in order to determine the flow of work, time requirements, costs, and duration. 

  • Develops strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of the various work processes of the company. 

  • Applies various industrial engineering problem solving and productivity techniques to evaluate the improvement of recommended strategies and programs.  

  • Instructs others in continuous process improvements, including the use of various problem solving and productivity techniques such as process mapping and cost time management. 

  • Develops and coordinates programs to recognize and reward groups or individuals for suggestions and actions related to process improvement.  

  • Facilitates employee teams to build cohesiveness and improve the overall results of the respective teams' tasks. 

  • Mage Continuous Improvement materials for multiple job groups, teams, and departments. 

  • Support plant CPS pillars and projects including AMD, CSD, and Area Ownership. 

  • Keep a professional attitude in all situations. 

  • Have the ability to work overtime and rotating shifts as necessary to support the needs of the Continuous Improvement process. 

  • Help develop and support a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the entire facility. 

  • Develop, revise, and maintain Continuous Improvement materials. 

  • Develop, maintain, and track audits and related Continuous Improvement projects. 

  • Coordinate and track individual and team Continuous Improvement training events. 

  • Setup, organize and conduct meetings effectively, including setting action items for follow-up, take notes and document information with accuracy.  

  • Organize and manage time and resources effectively in order to be successful in this position.  

  • Follow good housekeeping practices and GMP's. 

  • Wear required PPE. 

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by a Team Leader

  • Sanitation qualification is required If you are not qualified, you will be trained. 

  • Employee must be Lock-out/Tag-out qualification is required If you are not qualified, you will be trained. 

  • Forklift Certification is required. If not, employee must meet requirements to become forklift certified. 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form 

  • An individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. 

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

  • Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook. 

  • Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques. 

  • Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed. 

  • Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety, and personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook. 

  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player, be organized, and plan ahead.

A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is listed below.
