Certified Hand Therapist - CHT - Occupational Therapy

As a Certified Hand Therapist in the Occupational Therapy Department at NYP, you will provide high-quality care as you communicate with physicians, referring providers, multidisciplinary staff and administrative personnel. We provide one-on-one therapies that are tailored to meet the individual needs of our patients.  The Certified Hand Therapist will provide high quality treatment programs to assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within their capabilities.

This is a Monday-Friday position with weekends and holiday commitments.  This position is located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. 

** This position is a rotating position.  Rotations include working on our many acute care units, ambulatory surgery, acute inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient rehabilitation.  Schedule will be determined based on rotation and will include Tuesday – Saturday or Sunday - Thursday.  A varying shift of 7:00 am – 3:00 pm or 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. 

**Weekend and Holiday selections will work in the adult Inpatient Acute Care and or adult Inpatient Rehab setting.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Master’s degree in occupational therapy
  • National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

Required Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy
  • New York State Occupational Therapy licensure
  • Certified Hand Therapist
  • At least 1 year of clinical Occupational Therapy and Hand Therapy experience
  • Strong background in treating a wide range of upper extremity diagnosis, including post-surgical trauma, orthopedic, and rheumatologic disorders.
  • Must be proficient in splinting.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required.

Salary Range:

$105,000-$126,000/Annual
