The High Value and International Payments Crew is committed to delivering fast, safe, affordable, and transparent payment options to meet the changing needs of our customers through a seamless digital experience. Attached to this Crew, the Correspondent and Counterparty Management (CCM) team is a Centre of Excellence accountable for the Bank’s network of correspondent and global payment counterparties.  We are responsible for the sourcing and ongoing management of correspondent and supplier arrangements used in the international payments business. Making sure our counterparties meet our stakeholders needs and achieve the best outcomes for the Bank and its customers.  We also complete specialist risk assessments, due diligence, business analytics and regulatory reporting across the lifecycle of inward and outward payment clearing and settlement arrangements.

Do Work That Matters

Your role as Manager, International Network Management will be assisting the broader network management team manage CommBank’s correspondent banking partners on behalf of all internal stakeholders.  Ensuring arrangements operate efficiently, within the Banks appetite and in the best interest of our customers. Your responsibilities would include but is not limited to:

  • Working collaboratively with team members and stakeholders across the bank to reduce risk, improve client experiences and generate operational efficiencies across the banks correspondent banking network.
  • Support agreement negotiations to manage contractual risks and obligations arising from the correspondent network arrangements
  • Monitoring current clearing arrangements to ensure they are operating as per agreed service level and Terms and Conditions, including proactively dealing with any escalations, systemic or urgent breaks in service.
  • Working with stakeholder such as the International Payment Product team, Market Operations and Global Markets in understanding their requirements and keeping them informed of changes in arrangements and services as they occur
  • Undertaking service reviews on our correspondent banking partners
  • Assisting with internal and external currency reviews, including where the Bank put any part of its clearing requirements to market
  • Liaise directly with Financial Crime Compliance, Operational and Credit Risk teams where required

Your qualifications & experience

  • Sound knowledge of the Financial Services industry, with an understanding of correspondent banking preferred
  • Experience from working in the international payments business, and or global market products is an advantage
  • Experience working with external suppliers and legal contracts a plus
  • Proven ability to manage and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills and the ability to apply logical thinking
  • Sound planning and time management skills
  • Risk Mindset to proactively identify, understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks
  • A demonstrated client service focus to help drive the Banks goal of NPS+30
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills both oral and written
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word

 Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking or related financial services
  • Relevant experience in Product Management, Financial Institutions business or Global Markets is a plus
  • Professional experience in an international environment is a plus
