JOB SUMMARY
This position provides clerical support to pay the obligations of the company.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (in office on Thursday)

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Pay: $18.23 - $27.50/hr.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Match invoices with purchase orders.

  • Code invoices, calculate extensions and invoice totals and enter data into the system.

  • Key vouchers, listing the invoice number, date, vendor address, and amounts.

  • Copy vouchers, invoices and other correspondence.

  • Receive and organize statements from vendors.

  • Check vendor files for payment of invoices listed as outstanding and contact departments/vendors regarding outstanding invoices.

  • Prepare weekly check run, maintain the integrity of check numbering system.

  • Compose documentation to support month-end accrual process.

  • Match copies of checks with invoices

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Associates degree in accounting or finance preferred.


Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years commensurate experience.

  • 1-year accounts payable experience.

Professional Skills

  • Possess strong 10-key and data entry skills.

  • Familiar with a personal computer and mid-size accounting computer system.

  • Proven ability to work independently.

  • Ability to perform detailed work at a respectable pace.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word and Excel)


DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY
Most important decisions made fully independently:

  • The associate must make the decision when it is appropriate to call upon departments/vendors regarding outstanding invoices/credits.

Most important decisions made with review and approval of other individuals or supervisors (include the reviews/approvals required):

  • Keying vouchers/matching invoices and preparing documentation.
