Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has multiple openings for Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead-Staff Chief Engineer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals These positions will be located in Baltimore, MD, and placement will be commensurate with qualifications. 

What You'll Get To Do:

This individual will lead a cross-discipline engineering team typically greater than 10 people for a medium to high risk project and interface with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance.   

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct cross-functional engineering teams during proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery phases of products in development and production phases 

  • Support proposal development and new program acquisition efforts 

  • Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership 

  • Develop and execute to project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts 

  • Interface with functional departments to secure team staffing 

  • Work with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements 

  • Brief internal and customer leadership on progress of work assigned 

  • Perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settingsThe selected candidates are expected to be self-motivated, highly-organized, and detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills. 

 

Basic Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM related field and a minimum of 14 years related experience or a Master's Degree in a STEM related field and a minimum of 12 years related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  •  U.S. Citizenship and a current/active Secret Clearance

  • Experience as Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Technical lead, or other leadership role in a program office or business function with demonstrated team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills 

  • Engineering leadership experience in a team environment 

  • Strong understanding of the Design, Manufacturing or Test process 

  • Fluency with developing and executing project schedules 

 

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Experience in development of complex RF or Digital systems and sub-systems 

  • PMP certification a plus 

  • Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus 

  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects  

 

Salary Range: $157,500.00 - $236,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
