Position Brand Description:

Lilly is currently constructing a cutting-edge facility for the manufacture of advanced therapies in Lebanon, Indiana. This facility will be Lilly’s most technically advanced manufacturing site focused on the delivery of the next wave of innovative products at Lilly. It will include next-generation manufacturing technologies and advanced data collection and analysis platforms that will deliver improvements in safety, quality, and process performance. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the team for the startup of a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to start up the facility for both clinical and commercial supply. 

The Supply Chain organization has responsibility for scheduling the manufacturing processes for Lebanon Advanced Therapies site and supporting manufacturing with all inbound and outbound material flows.

The Buyer/Planners play a critical role within the Supply Chain organization by

translating demand forecasts (commercial & development) into the master schedule and monthly Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP), and leveraging SAP Materials Resource Planning (MRP) to purchase materials/components to support all site production-related activities. The initial phase of the project will require extensive cross-functional work with procurement, quality, master data, and warehouse operations to deliver an operational SAP system. As the site transitions to the production phase, the Buyer/Planners are the key link for all functions in the plant and in the broader supply chain for scheduling updates and issue resolution. The dynamic nature of the LP2 plant also presents opportunities to support additional activities, including: External Manufacturing Support, Commercial Launch Coordination, SAP Implementation Support.

As a Buyer/Planner, you will:

  • Optimize the production plans while accounting for demand, operations

    capacity constraints, and inventory targets

  • Convert the production plan to a master shop floor schedule

  • Resolve capacity challenges and unplanned production issues as a member of Process Teams

  • Utilize SAP MRP to purchase raw materials and components in support of the production schedule

  • Troubleshoot supply issues throughout the fulfillment process in conjunction

    with vendors, other Lilly sites, and Procurement

  • Establish effective internal relationships with key departments / functions

  • Work collaboratively to ensure order documentation requirements are met

  • Support Master Data Analysts with generation of OSSCE (Operational Standards for Supply Chain) metrics/improvements and master data accuracy

  • Maintain a safe workplace through proper ergonomic practices

  • Maintain a state of compliance (learning plan, SOP adherence, etc.)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience in a heavily regulated manufacturing environment

Additional Preferences:

  • SAP / Master Data experience in Material Master creation and maintenance

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment

  • Strong organizational and Project Management skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Customer-oriented

  • Excellent Computer skills (e.g., MRP, SAP, Excel)

Other Information:

  • 8 hour work days – Monday through Friday

  • May need to be available off shift and respond to operational issues as-needed

  • Minimal travel required (<5%)

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$58,500 - $137,500

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
