About the Role
This position is an opportunity for a self-motivated Sustainability Consultant passionate about regenerative practice, high-performance design, innovation and environmental responsibility. Our global business strategy is to focus heavily on living systems and net-zero carbon design.
We are looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join our team and work closely with our clients to achieve their sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability and an eagerness to put theory into practice across a diverse range of projects. The role requires close collaboration with the wider Sustainability team, both in Australia and across the globe, and a desire to learn a broad set of consulting and analytical skills to facilitate impactful change for our clients and communities we work in.

This is a 6 month contractual position with potential to go permanent. The position can be based in Melbourne or Sydney.
The Role:
Developing and advancing the role of sustainability through proactively exploring and developing best practice, with appropriate internal training and communication undertaken where required
Contribute to sustainability consultancy projects with an interest in client-facing and resource management skills
Participate in integrated multi-disciplinary design teams designing buildings and systems from the simple to the most technically complex.
Simulation of building physics phenomena, including energy demand, MEP systems simulation, thermal comfort, façade performance, daylight performance, glare, solar exposure and access, pedestrian wind comfort, renewable energy generation, natural ventilation.
Undertake analysis to support compliance with Australian and international codes and planning requirements: NCC 2019 Part J, BESS, Green Star, MUSIC, NABERS.
Maintain and/or develop a broad understanding of sustainability issues as they relate to the built environment including application of Green Star, NABERS, NatHERS, Passive House, WELL Building Standard and other international benchmarking systems.
Represent the firm in co-ordination and advocacy activities with relevant industry bodies, such as the Property Council of Australia, GBCA, ILFI, IWBI and others.
Illustrate concepts and prepare written reports.
Adequately communicate by verbal and written means, technical points, thoughts and ideas to other staff, professionals and clients.
Work within a team environment and be able to co-ordinate with support staff in their work as it relates to the project requirements.
Act professionally with all parties on the clients work to enhance the company’s reputation.
Achieve continued professional development in areas relevant to the achievement of personal objectives and as a contribution to those of the company.
Contribute to the development of the company so as to enhance its reputation.
Co-operate with and support other teams and Company staff in a pro-active way so that their objectives are met.
Skills and Qualifications:
1 to 3 years of consulting experience preferably in the building industry. Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications welcome to apply.
A passion for sustainability principles and practices
Experience in project management, data analysis, and metric development
Strong reporting writing skills and strong consulting skills
Organised and effective team member, able to work easily with others, manage staff, negotiate, and effectively delegate
Advanced Interpersonal skills with clients and staff
Advanced communication skills
