Role Summary:
As an AVP-level individual contributor in the Commodities Technology team, you will work closely with the PMA desk to deliver end-to-end technical solutions.

This role demands strong hands-on skills in Python and React, a deep understanding of the commodities trading lifecycle, and the ability to manage production support at the highest level (L3).

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Engagement (PMA Desk Reporting)

Work directly with the PMA desk to understand business workflows, data requirements.
Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.

 

• End-to-End Solution Delivery

Own the full development lifecycle – from requirement gathering to deployment and support.
Document solution designs, workflows, and technical specifications.
 

• Hands-on Development

Design and develop applications using Python for backend services and React for front-end interfaces.
Build scalable, high-performance tools tailored to commodities trading and analytics needs.

 

• Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with traders, analysts, and other technology teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
Proactively identify and implement process, performance, and user experience improvements.
Contribute to automation and monitoring enhancements for increased system reliability

 

• L3 Production Support

Provide Level 3 support for business-critical commodities applications.

Investigate and resolve complex production issues.
Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.

Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of relevant experience
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects
• Experience with dependency management, change management, continuous integration testing tools, and audit/compliance requirements
• Extensive knowledge of software engineering and object-oriented design
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
