How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Position: Operations Manager
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Target Salary Range: $80k - $100k (DOE)

Supervise and coordinate the processing of compressed and liquid gases package re-testing at our UE / LCR facility. Lead a team, ensure safety, manage operations, and drive efficiency in a cutting-edge environment. Join us at Airgas and play a pivotal role in shaping our industry's future.
  • All duties and responsibilities shall be performed as set forth in established policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and assure compliance with the Code of Conduct/Handbook, policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards promulgated by Federal, State and other applicable agencies or regulating bodies.
  • Must lead within the Airgas culture – putting safety first.
  • Responsible for the overall Safety, Quality, Service and Cost control of Operations team.
  • Oversee all aspects of the filling operations, ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations and Airgas policies.
  • Manages all operations personnel in accordance with company policies by hiring, training, motivating, planning and directing work, managing performance and resolving associate issues so that assigned performance targets are met or exceeded.
  • Develops capital expenditure budget and coordinates capital expenditures once proper approvals have been received.
  • Works with the regional safety officer to coordinate the procedures required for compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, and state and local regulations and Union agreements.
  • Creates, implements and revises, as needed, standard operational practices.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement measures for continuous improvement in production methods, equipment performance, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Assists with development of capital expenditure budget and coordinates capital expenditures once proper approvals have been received.
  • Compiles, stores, and analyzes production data and makes adjustments so that needs are met.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Must have a High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5 + years of experience in industrial gas/packaged gas industry plant environment, petrochemical, or related industries in operations and/or engineering or related activities. 
  • Minimum 2 years in supervisory role. 
  • General Management and Leadership Roles in Industrial Gas Business.
  • Proficiency in computer usage for data entry, extraction, and tracking plant performance.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines, manage a high volume of paperwork accurately, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet business needs and management expectations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be detailed-oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write routine business reports and correspondence and effectively present information and respond to questions from associates and managers.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple tasks.
  • Pre-employment and random drug testing applies.
  • Possess conceptual understanding of industrial gas products, production, distribution applications and equipment
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practices desired.
  • Significant training in Safety and Compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA)
  • a) Compliance with applicable federal, state, local regulatory procedures (CGMP, DOT, OSHA, FDA, 
  • Must have extensive coordination experience in a multi team environment.
