Job Summary:

The Logistics Specialist will manage and optimize the movement of goods and materials across Xylem’s supply chain in the relevant region. This role ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with global standards while supporting Xylem’s sustainability goals and customer commitments.

Freight and Logistics:

  • Liaising with Suppliers (Intercompany and 3rd Party suppliers) to optimize supply and reduce lead times.

  • Oversee the order fulfillment process, ensuring that customer orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.

  • Coordinate with distribution and logistics teams to optimize shipping and delivery processes.

  • Identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks, such, transportation issues, supplier production lead time changes.

  • Management of logistics quotations for shipment with current 3-PL/4-PL service providers:

  • Liaising with freight forwarders to ensure smooth shipping and clearing of cross trades, import and export orders

  • Creation of Smart Support Purchase Requisitions for shipments

  • Consolidation and optimization of shipments

  • Closing of Smart Support Purchase Requisitions when completed.

  • Attending weekly Outlook meetings to comment on shipment status (on time delivery, collection & possible freight delays)

Supplier Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with current portfolio of suppliers for:

    • Freight and accurate ETA

  • Ensure Supplier (freight forwarders) contract compliance

  • Oversee performance management of all 3PL service suppliers (freight forwarders). Scorecard and follow up

  • XPS Supplier Pillar Owner: Transportation

Processes and Continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement Activities using lean / six sigma methodologies.

  • Investigating pain points within current processes and assisting in developing solutions to resolve conflicts and inefficiencies.

  • Analysis of category spend to look for opportunities to support the category.

  • Develop and implement cost saving initiatives in allocated categories.

  • Mapping of all supply chain processes in Visio/Excel

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management within an international organization.

  • Strong knowledge of international shipping, customs regulations, and incoterms in similar industry.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, relevant ERP systems and logistics software.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work overtime as and when required.
