About the role:
As a Public Cloud Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing,
and managing automated solutions within public cloud environments such as Azure and
AWS. You, along with the team, will be focusing on creating scalable and efficient au‐
tomation scripts and frameworks to streamline cloud operations and reduce manual inter‐
ventions. You will collaborate with development, operations, network, and security teams to
integrate automation into pipelines. We ensure infrastructure as code; we use tools like
Terraform and Jenkins. We monitor and optimize performances of automated processes
ensuring reliability and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, you will stay updated with the latest
cloud technologies and automation trends to continuously improve and innovate au‐
tomation solutions.
About the team:
The Production Cloud Automation Team consists of engineers who collaboratively design,
implement, and maintain automation solutions for the Cloud Services Team. They work to‐
gether to streamline client onboarding, enhance deployment processes and ensure scalabili‐
ty and reliability of onboarding solutions through automation. This team stays abreast of
emerging cloud technologies and automation tools, continuously improving their practices
to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.
What you will be doing:
· Design and code high-quality solutions for automating Public Cloud account/subscription
s, Active Directory components, networking, and infrastructure
· Generate Terraform code and ancillary technologies (such as Sentinel) to drive standards.
· Create code to interface with other systems to create required infrastructure and register
infrastructure components
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues in creating and deploying infrastructure automation
· Evaluate various FIS lines of business requirements, compare that with available cloud
technologies, and through collaboration, produce a technical solution that is cloud ready.
· Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering capacity and limi‐
tations, operation time and form of desired results.
· Documents technical strategies, objectives, and drivers.
· Re-engineering processes to deliver greater effectiveness and efficiency.
· Assesses, applies, and projects the impact of system changes on users and internal and
external clients or stakeholders.
· Continuously learn and experiment.
· Other related duties assigned as needed.
· Designing, programming, debugging and modifying software enhancements.
· Interacting with product managers and users to define requirements and modifications.
· Participating in software design meetings to determine technical requirements.
· Working with internal Client Training, Client Relationship and Sales teams.
What you will need:
Desired Qualifications:
· 5+ years working in infrastructure at a large IT organization (5000+ people)
· 6+ months of Hashicorp Terraform development experience
· Proficiency with Jenkins and BitBucket
· 3+ years developing automation for infrastructure
· 1+ years developing automation for Azure Cloud and AWS Cloud
· 2+ years of experience deploying and troubleshooting key cloud network technologies: e.g.,
load balancers, application load balancers, firewalls.
· 1+ years deploying Containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
· A passion for learning.
· Advanced skills around working with people: ability to listen and exhibit empathy to drive
customer satisfaction.
· Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal
and external clients
· Excellent collaborative skills and attitude
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences
of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
· Process oriented candidate who enjoys automating
· Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other
resources
· Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
· Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take.
