About the Role:
We're seeking a strategic and technical revenue accounting leader to join our finance team at CrowdStrike, a hyper-growth SaaS company revolutionizing the cybersecurity industry. Reporting directly to the VP, Revenue Controller, you'll be responsible for navigating the complexities of our revenue contracts, ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition, and providing expert guidance on ASC 606 and other revenue accounting regulations. As a trusted advisor to the executive team, commercial organization, and external auditors, you'll work closely with key stakeholders to ensure seamless communication, mitigate revenue accounting risks, and drive business growth and success in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Additionally, you'll play a critical role in driving business transformation and scaling our business, leveraging your expertise to identify opportunities for process improvements, optimize revenue accounting operations, and implement scalable solutions that support our rapid growth.
What You'll Do:
Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing team that embodies the company's values and culture.
Lead the team responsible for managing the end-to-end global revenue accounting process, ensuring accuracy, data quality, and timeliness of results.
Ensure effective risk assessment and internal controls are in place, including maintaining global revenue recognition policies and overseeing the contract lifecycle.
Ensure the highest quality accounting and financial reporting processes, including relevant, accurate, and complete external disclosures.
Work closely with sales, legal, revenue operations, deal desk, product, and finance teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition interpretations and efficient order-to-cash operations.
Participate in developing and scaling order-to-cash systems, processes, and controls, leading transformation initiatives to achieve desired outcomes.
Build strong professional relationships with key business partners, external auditors, and the executive team, providing timely and high-quality communication and guidance.
What You'll Need:
Experience: 15+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and SaaS/software or tech industry, with a mix of Big 4 accounting experience and high-growth public companies.
Masterful knowledge of ASC 606 and related US GAAP pronouncements, including its application on complex revenue arrangements.
Proven track record of building and developing strong teams, with experience in mentoring and developing talent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex situations and present conclusions in simple terms.
Passionate and persistent about operational excellence, with experience in leading teams through ambiguity and championing change.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent, with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools, with experience in relevant systems such as Netsuite and Salesforce CPQ.
