Job Description:

The Senior Director of Data Enablement is responsible for transforming data into a strategic asset by ensuring it is accessible, trusted, well-governed, and actionable across the enterprise. This leader bridges data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, and business teams to accelerate insight, decision-making, and value realization. The role focuses on enabling self-service analytics, modern data platforms, data literacy, and scalable operating models that drive measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Data Enablement Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute the enterprise data enablement strategy aligned to business priorities and digital transformation goals.
  • Partner with executive leaders to translate business objectives into data capabilities, use cases, and roadmaps.
  • Serve as a thought leader on modern data platforms, analytics, AI/ML readiness, and data-driven operating models.

Platforms, Tools & Architecture

  • Oversee enablement of cloud data platforms, analytics tools, semantic layers, and data products that support self-service and advanced analytics.
  • Collaborate with MSP Data Engineering and Architecture teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of data ecosystems.
  • Standardize tooling, patterns, and best practices to reduce complexity and accelerate time-to-insight.

Self-Service Analytics & Adoption

  • Drive enterprise adoption of self-service BI and analytics by business users, analysts, and product teams.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure data adoption, usage, and business impact.
  • Remove friction in data access while maintaining appropriate governance and controls.

Data Governance, Quality & Trust

  • Partner with Data Governance, Security, and Legal leaders to ensure data quality, lineage, definitions, and compliance.
  • Champion consistent business definitions, metrics, and master data to create a single source of truth.
  • Embed data quality and observability into data products and pipelines.

Data Literacy & Change Enablement

  • Lead data literacy programs, training, and enablement initiatives to elevate analytics maturity across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making through coaching, communication, and executive storytelling.
  • Support change management efforts tied to new tools, platforms, and ways of working.

Operating Model & Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing Managed Service data enablement organization, including BI, analytics engineering, enablement, and platform adoption roles.
  • Define engagement models with business units, product teams, and IT partners.
  • Manage budgets, vendors, and partners to maximize value and ROI.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in data, analytics, BI, or data platform roles, with at least 3 years in senior leadership.
  • Proven experience enabling enterprise self-service analytics and modern data platforms (cloud data warehouses, BI tools, semantic layers).
  • Strong business acumen with a track record of translating data capabilities into measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing executive stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, data quality, and analytics operating models.

Preferred

  • Experience with cloud ecosystems (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Familiarity with BI and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Experience supporting AI/ML, advanced analytics, or product analytics enablement.
  • Background in large-scale digital or data transformation initiatives.
