Mental Health Clinician / Therapist

Division/Program:

(Inpatient) Crisis Residential Unit

Starting Compensation:

70000 - 85000 USD Per Year

Working Location:

Merced, CA

Working Hours/Shift:

Choice of a 5-day, 8-hour work schedule (Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday) or a 4-day, 10-hour work schedule, both schedules will include a weekend day

What you bring to SBHG:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from an accredited college or university required
  • (4) years direct service experience with the mentally ill, preferably adults preferred.
  • BBS Registered: APCC, ACSW, AMFT, LPCC, LCSW, LMFT required

How you will make a difference:

  • Prepares a comprehensive written psychosocial evaluation and assessment on assigned clients, in addition to an intake note, daily progress notes, summary notes (as may be required) and a discharge summary.
  • Responsible for assessing client’s readiness for admission and coordination planning with treatment team, the client’s case managers, and transferring facilities
  • Responsible for assessing client’s readiness for discharge and coordination planning with treatment team; working with case managers to effect appropriate referrals for placement, case management and aftercare services; coordinates benefits (Medi-Cal) with Business Office personnel; and maintains knowledge of community resources.
  • Provides individual group therapy to clients on a weekly basis and as needed based on the needs of the clients
  • Interprets facility policies and procedures to clients and family members.
  • Actively participates in treatment team meetings and is responsible for working with other disciplines to develop a coordinated treatment plan for assigned clients.

  • 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59)
  • Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services
  • Pre-vocational or vocational counseling
  • Medication evaluation and support services
