Overview:

Responsible for the effective functioning of the Seafood Department, providing customers with the best service, quality and selection of seafood, while achieving maximum sales and profits with creative product display.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided in a courteous manner to maintain our reputation for friendly, effective, and personalized experience.
  • To order all seafood products and supplies and oversee the merchandising of product, as per the Fortino’s Health Code;
  • To be responsible for quality of product, organizing and setting up the department, maintaining proper inventory levels and ensuring proper signage is made up and put up correctly;
  • To schedule, direct and supervise all seafood staff to secure department efficiencies;
  • To interview and select new hires, train new employees, and perform ongoing performance evaluations;
  • To maximize sales and gross profit, ensuring sales’ goals and budgets are met;
  • To ensure the maintenance of equipment and the safety and sanitation of the department, as per Company Policy;
  • To respond to any customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times;
  • To perform other duties, as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years’ work experience in a retail seafood environment;
  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, and weekends;
  • Some managerial experience, a definite asset;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure;
  • Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
