As a member of the Wexner Center for the Arts’ Visitor Experience team (Visitor & Ticketing Services, House Management, Facility Rentals/Events, the Wexner Center Store), responsible for implementing a consistently positive experience for the Center’s visitors, consistent with the institution’s mission & brand; work in conjunction with programming teams to plan, manage and supervise front of house activities as they relate to audiences; recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and update volunteers and part time staff on various programs and events at the Center; provide input into areas that interact with the public in consultatory relationship to other departments regarding Visitor Experience.

Supervises:   25-30 Intermittent Part time Staff and 30-40 Volunteers; in conjunction with other Events Coordinator

Desired Experience and Skills 

Bachelor’s degree in theater, arts administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in visitor experience or other equivalents required; excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to remain focused under pressure required; working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook required; sustained physical activity, such as pushing carts, set-up, remaining standing on feet for extended periods, walking up stairs and inclined ramps required; lifting up to 50 lbs. required; valid US driver license required.  Experience in large-scale performing arts management and volunteer management/volunteer experience desired; event management experience or a desire to learn desired; mentoring experience desired; basic knowledge of the language and terms of the performing, media, and/or visual arts strongly desired.

Full-time schedule is 40 hours per week. Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and possible holidays as needed; use of personal vehicle may be required (mileage reimbursed). Successful completion of background check prior to start date required.

In accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17, this position has been designated as a standby (not required to report to work) position; requires successful completion of background check.
