The Associate Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the maintenance and support of system files and tables used to drive the base functionality of our applications, troubleshooting problems/issues and handling projects ranging from low to medium risk.  The Analyst’s primary role is to support the department’s systems and staff by recommending and implementing system enhancements that promote efficiency, compliance, and growth.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Technical Expertise and Production Support

  • Conduct/Sign-off on SOX Audits on the System Access files/tables.
  • Administer the systems applications access and activity levels of associates.
  • Maintain Access databases and provide adhoc reports from them.
  • Enter routine user-maintained table changes. 
  • Train and provide guidance to System Support Analysts with less experience.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and/or problems with limited direction.

Process Engineering

  • Analyze existing processes or workflows of low to medium complexity for adaptive or corrective changes.
  • Document existing and new business workflows.
  • Display basic knowledge of fundamental project process re-engineering approaches and techniques.
  • Data Mapping.
  • Comply with corporate and departmental policies.

Customer Liaison, Relationship Building, and Communications

  • Build relationships with internal and external customers and business partners.
  • Communicate effectively in writing.
  • Speak effectively.
  • Actively show understanding of what another says before giving own ideas.
  • Provide support to low volume clients as assigned.
  • Create atmosphere conducive to success.

Analysis/Solution Generation

  • Identify defective or ineffective work processes/flows within related work areas and make appropriate recommendations for improvement or efficiency gains.
  • Report system problems and recommend appropriate course of action to remedy.
  • Research, report and implement fixes for less to moderately complex problems/issues. 
  • Recommend temporary solutions or workarounds.
  • Ability to identify priority issues and determine which issues can be handled within the authority of an Analyst and being able to discern those issues requiring direction from a higher authority.

Testing, Debugging, Test Management, Quality Assurance

  • Determine testing requirements for low to medium impact projects, based on the Technical Specification Documents.
  • Design/Draft test plans for low to medium impact projects.
  • Manage development and execution of test plans throughout the project life cycle for low to medium impact projects.
  • Identify flaws, errors, and issues with application functionality, flow and/or program changes.
  • Research, document, report, and communicate any defects with functionality, flow and/or program changes.
  • Produce agreed upon deliverables on time, within targeted estimates and without error.
  • Timely retesting and documentation of the corrections made for defects.

Requirements Definition

  • Interpret business, compliance, and financial needs for low to medium impact projects.
  • Participate in monitored Customer sessions and interviews.
  • Gather, analyze/research, and formulate data and process flows for projects with low to medium complexity.
  • Define and document detailed functional requirements, including systems scope and objectives for low to medium impact projects.
  • Ensure IT understanding of requested modifications and accuracy of technical specification documents.
  • Maintain SOX deliverables in the Forms Repository and conduct SOX audits on the System Access files/tables.

Project Management

  • Display knowledge of project management principles and apply Company approved methodology.
  • Prioritize and coordinate activities of project team members for low to medium impact projects.
  • Participate as a project team member for medium to large, complex projects.
  • Identify project issues, and communicate progress and obstacles to sponsors and/or management.
  • Ensures that project remains on schedule, or revises schedules as required with the appropriate consultation, approvals and communication.
  • Handles multiple tasks and small projects, concurrently.
  • Participate in cost/benefit analysis.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead/coordinate medium size projects independently and to assist in large projects (greater than 500 hours) under the direction of a Sr. Business Analyst.

Implementation

  • Coordinate production implementation efforts with User community and IT.
  • Communicate implementation timelines and tasks.
  • Develop the User Documentation and Training material.
  • Train the trainers and/or impacted associates.
  • Post-implementation audits/reviews.

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience. 
  • 2+ years business analyst experience.
  • Requires knowledge and a demonstrated ability to learn a variety of applications including mainframe, Microsoft suite, Rational tools and business analysis software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively perform system support duties.
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications and equipment.
  • Ability to process moderate to highly complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions and communicate actions.
  • Experience interpreting and documenting moderate to highly complex workflow processes.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and work independently or as part of a project team to complete multiple tasks.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • 3+ years of comprehensive experience utilizing Salesforce for various business operations.
  • Project Management experience and/or Green Belt Certification or Business Analyst Certification (CBAP).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • 2+ years Customer Service experience.
  • Experience with processing financial claims.

Pay Range:

$53,700.00 - $89,900.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
