Job Summary
The Comcast Business Cybersecurity (CBSEC) Team is the Cybersecurity Lead for Comcast Business. We are a team of security architects, analysts, engineers and coaches who work as consultants to product and development teams ensuring Comcast Cybersecurity policies and standards are implemented correctly. Our team works across all security domains, including vulnerability management, network, cloud and endpoint security, identity and access management, governance risk and compliance, threat modeling and remediation.

You will:
Learn the 12 practice areas of The Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) and assist Comcast Business Cybersecurity Engineers, Coaches & Architects in ensuring Comcast Business “protects the moments that matter.”
- Work with product and development teams to ensure cybersecurity hygiene meets or exceeds Comcast Cybersecurity Standards.
- Assist Comcast Business Cybersecurity Leads & PMO with developing and tracking vulnerability remediation strategies
- Assist with cybersecurity audit preparation activities.
- Field security design consultation requests and collaborate with principal security architects.
- Complete Comcast Cybersecurity Belt Security Training.
- Get familiar with Security Central the one-stop-shop for all things Comcast Cybersecurity
- Learn about the XcyberScore (XCS) program which is the gamification of the 12 Cybersecurity Practices
- Create SDL coaching after action reports.
- Aid in updating Comcast Cybersecurity ServiceNow tracking system.
- Create Secure Design Consultation tickets for our senior architects.
You Have
- Knowledge of computer systems and networks.
- Understanding of security concepts: encryption, firewalls, and access control.
- Understanding of common threats and vulnerabilities
- Familiarity with security tools: vulnerability scanners, packet sniffers, and intrusion detection systems
- Ability to analyze and interpret data: analyze and interpret data to identify patterns and trends that may indicate a security threat.
- Communication skills: The ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.
- Problem-solving skills: Able to solve complex problems, identifying and mitigating complex security threats.
Must Have Skills
- Network Security Fundamentals – Understanding of firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
- Knowledge of Operating Systems – Understanding of Windows, Linux, and MacOS security features.
- Cybersecurity Concepts – Basic understanding of malware, phishing, and threat landscapes.
- Vulnerability Assessment – Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools like Nessus or OpenVAS.
- Risk Assessment & Management – Ability to identify and evaluate security risks.
- SIEM Tools – Experience with Security Information and Event Management tools like Splunk or ArcSight.
- Incident Response Skills – Understanding of basic steps in incident handling and response.
- Understanding of Networking Protocols – Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and more.
- Programming/Scripting Basics – Skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and analysis.
- Penetration Testing Knowledge – Basic understanding of penetration testing techniques and tools.
- Security Compliance Standards – Awareness of standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR.
- Access Control Management – Understanding of IAM (Identity and Access Management) principles.
- Cryptography Fundamentals – Basic understanding of encryption, hashing, and data protection methods.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving – Analytical thinking to resolve technical security issues.
- Soft Skills – Strong communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration within teams.
