Job Description 

In this valuable role, the Clinical Supervisor is accountable for the supervision of RN’s and RPN’s who are caring and making a difference for clients within the community and clinics. The Clinical Nursing Supervisor will have the expertise to assess, implement and evaluate a wide range of clinical care interventions to ensure the delivery of safe, quality, and ethical care.

What you’ll do:

  • Supervise and support registered nurses and registered practical nurses to ensure practices comply with all legislated standards of practice as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Respond to and advise/resolve concerns from community/clinic staff, patients/families, and other team members.
  • Provide ongoing leadership through regular huddles, face to face meetings and one-on-ones.
  • Initiate patient safety incident investigations and documents to ensure timelines and action plans are met.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing team members to support clinical documentation and submission requirements according to specific funder reporting guidelines.
  • Engage patients in problem solving using a collaborative approach, offering health teaching, building rapport and trust to identify patient health care needs, strengths, capacities, and goals.
  • Engage staff in problem solving, offering education, coaching, and mentoring in resolution of problems.
  • Maintain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe, efficient, effective service in all areas of practice by keeping abreast of changes in practice setting that affect scope of practice.
  • Travelling to nursing clinics within the districts georgraphy

 

What you bring:

  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and entitled to practice without restrictions
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a practicing Registered Nurse
  • Comprehensive patient health assessment skills are required
  • Possess an understanding of the principles of community nursing practice
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation standards and practice guidelines is required
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and teaching skills
  • Commitment to professional development in clinical practice that is relevant to home health care
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • Able to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)
  • C.N.A. Certification as a Community Health Nurse (CCHN(C)) is considered an asset
