Primary Function

The candidate will be responsible for successfully designing and managing the delivery of cloud-based solutions and technologies. The technologies include but are not limited to, Salesforce.com products and APIs, Apex, Lightning, Aura/LWC, and integration technologies. Also, the candidate should maintain an ongoing comprehensive understanding of the cloud-computing ecosystem. The candidate must specialize in the Salesforce Platform (Financial Services, Sales, Service, Einstein, and Marketing Cloud), with the ability to develop solutions cross-cloud.

Principal Duties

  • Work closely with Product Owners, Business, Compliance, and Enterprise Architecture to architect technology solutions that meet the requirements in accordance with industry best practices. 

  • Establish a forward thinking, broad architectural vision that aligns with the Salesforce.com product vision and roadmap.

  • Identify key technical obstacles, deeply understand them, and derive solutions together with the broader team.

  • Evaluates internal functions, system development strategies, and suggest recommended improvements.

  • Identify and implements build versus buy strategies, mentor personnel, and views of the overall system strategy.

  • Review and correct project/program direction, approach and key artifacts to stay on track and deliver an extendable and maintainable solution.

  • Create application and technical design documents which leverage Salesforce best practices and effectively integrate Salesforce into the existing enterprise infrastructure.

  • Provide guidance on application and integration development best practices, Enterprise Architecture standards, functional and technical solution architecture & design, environment management, testing, and Salesforce Platform education.

  • Lead and mentor the development team on projects.

  • Enforce sound development practices and ensure the quality delivery of enterprise solutions.

  • Troubleshoot key issues and drive to successful resolution. Lead the evaluation of business and technical requirements from a senior level.

  • Work collaboratively and have a strong communication skill, especially in teaching complex concepts. Assist business partners to be self-sufficient in designing business process workflows.

  • Perform related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; advanced Degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of related experience in developing technology solutions.

  • 7+ years of experience as a Salesforce Technical/Solution Architect in a mid to large organization.

  • Prior leadership experience with responsibility for overseeing development and/or project team members, team capacity planning, coaching, and performance.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements  

  • Served as a Trusted Advisor, drive conversations with Enterprise Architects, IT Delivery Leaders, and Business Stakeholders armed with best practices for enterprise architecture.

  • Understand the risks, tradeoffs associated with the architectural plan.

  • Specialize in gathering and analyzing information and designing comprehensive solutions that are flexible and adaptable.

  • Expert level understanding of the Salesforce product suite, including Sales, Service, Financial Services, Marketing Cloud, and Force.com Platform.

  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies.

  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.

  • Cutting edge innovator who continually studies new functionality and is involved in projects that push the capabilities of existing technologies.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to effectively develop materials that are appropriate for the audience.

  • Develop code/config, tests and bug fixes.

  • Maintain familiarity with all code bases, test suites, local development processes, deploy tooling, monitoring systems, etc.

  • A highly certified and recognized Salesforce expert. Preferred Salesforce.com product certifications:

    • Advanced Administrator

    • Application Architect

    • System Architect
