JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lead with Purpose at Global Scale – Become Our Next Manufacturing Shift Leader!

Are you ready to lead in a world-class, high-tech manufacturing environment where Industry 4.0 innovation meets life-changing impact? At Abbott Diabetes Care in Donegal, we’re not just producing medical devices—

we’re transforming lives. As part of a global healthcare leader with over 115,000 employees worldwide, our Donegal site is home to nearly 700 talented professionals working together to deliver cutting-edge diabetes

solutions to millions of patients across the globe.

We’re looking for a Manufacturing Shift Leader who thrives in complexity, leads with confidence, and inspires teams to achieve exceptional results—every shift, every day.

What You’ll Lead:

  • Inspire and empower a team of Process Leaders to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality products that make a global difference.

  • Own the production floor—plan and execute daily operations to meet ambitious volume targets and customer expectations.

  • Solve complex challenges in real time, keeping equipment and processes running smoothly and efficiently.

  • Champion compliance by ensuring all procedures, documentation, and standards are current and rigorously followed.

  • Drive continuous improvement through performance reviews, development plans, and lean manufacturing initiatives.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to uphold our commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.

What Success Looks Like:

  • You persist through challenges, navigating obstacles with resilience and focus.

  • You anticipate trends, influence outcomes, and execute strategies that deliver measurable business impact.

  • You think critically, challenge assumptions, and welcome diverse perspectives to solve problems creatively.

  • You build trust and credibility with internal and external stakeholders, creating a culture of openness and accountability.

  • You make bold, informed decisions, even in the absence of complete information, and create space for early escalation of risks.

  • You put the right people in the right roles, coach for performance, and foster a culture where everyone can thrive.

  • You inspire and engage your team to embrace the strategy and deliver with purpose.

What You Bring:

  • A third-level qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science, Business, or a trade certificate in an engineering discipline.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a high-performance manufacturing environment (preferred).

  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience with a passion for developing people.

  • A deep commitment to continuous improvement and delivering for our patients worldwide.

Why This Role Matters:

You’ll report directly to the Manufacturing Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations run at peak performance. Your leadership will directly impact our ability to deliver life-changing healthcare

solutions to people living with diabetes around the world.

Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
