The Senior Director for Strategy and Planning is responsible for leading the team responsible for long-term strategic planning and operational effectiveness within the Embedded Business Unit. The Embedded Business Unit is the business unit within Micron chartered with growing a highly stable and profitably business in some of the industry’s fasting growing sectors, including Automotive, Industrial and AI-enabled Consumer applications. Reporting directly to the general manager and CVP of the business unit, the leader will manage strategic and operational direction processes and programs that cut across the business unit functions.

The EBU Senior Director of Strategy and Planning will lead a team responsible for:

· Long-range strategic planning including business and strategic plan development as well as operational excellence programs.

· Developing the EBU Strategic Business Plan, quarterly and interim business plan updates and contributions to the Corporate Strategic Plan.

· Preparation of the materials to report out to the CEO, CBO and the Board of Directors.

· Running key strategic and operational excellence decision forums that cut across the business unit.

· Leading the development and ensuring the ongoing efficiency and accuracy of market opportunity sizing, long range demand forecasts, strategic pricing forecasts, and market and competitive intelligence, including share tracking and competitive benchmarking.

· Working with the manufacturing organization to size and secure long term manufacturing roadmaps aligned to the needs of EBU’s customers as well as collaborating directly with the Global Operations team to keep these production lines running successfully.

· Leading operational excellence initiatives including supervising the business unit’s performance to the business plan while driving improvements in key processes and programs through regular indicators and special improvement programs and task forces

· Heading up strategic explorations beyond the current business plan, including collaborating with Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development and Technology Development on new programs, initiatives, and investments, up to and including mergers and acquisitions related to EBU’s business focus.

· Working with related functions throughout the company, to ensure strategic and operational alignment in areas like market forecasting, and to ensure that the strategic directions and requirements of the business are collected

The candidate should have the following qualifications:

· Validated Experience in the memory, storage semiconductor, automotive and industrial electronics industry.

· Experience in leading and developing a team of senior subject matter authorities

· Keen analytical ability and the ability to synthesize data and conceptualize trends and implications, and quickly prioritize the most meaningful and impactful

· Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to craft and deliver compelling presentations and business plans for executive audiences

· Be comfortable working and with executive management while exercising influence across organizational boundaries

· The successful candidate will have strong business acumen and the ability to use data-driven analysis to identify and track areas of improvement and drive increased accountability within the organization.

· The ideal candidate should also have experience in business and strategic planning, long-term forecasting, market and competitive intelligence and strategic exploration

Education and Experience:

· A BA/BS, preferable in a technical field and coupled with an MBA or equivalent experience

· 15 plus years in a strategy or business planning role

· 5 plus years of that experience should be within the memory & storage, automotive or industrial electronics industry

· Experience leading teams of senior-level business and technology subject matter experts

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$206,000.00 - $378,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
