About the Project
ACCIONA's Mechanical and Electrical business delivers complex systems across major infrastructure projects in Australia. The specialist ACCIONA Mechanical and Electrical team provides in house mechanical and electrical design, construction and installation capability for mining, energy, manufacturing and commercial projects. The team supports transmission line upgrades, substation delivery, waste to energy projects and desalination projects. We deliver works from design to commissioning and focus on safety, quality and long term asset performance.

About the Opportunity
The National Operations Manager with report into the General Manager of Mechanical and Electrical and will lead national delivery across the Mechanical and Electrical specialist business. The role supports project leaders, sets delivery standards and guides bid, planning and governance frameworks. It builds strong relationships with senior clients and internal partners and uplifts capability across regions while supporting long term career growth.

What are the key accountabilities for the position?

  • Lead national delivery across ACCIONA Mechanical and Electrical projects
  • Shape bid strategy, commercial positions and risk plans
  • Set delivery methods, controls and governance
  • Oversee schedule, cash flow, forecasting and reporting
  • Lift safety, engineering and quality outcomes
  • Champion digital engineering and innovation
  • Build capability and strengthen leader alignment

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, design standards, and construction methodologies across multiple disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems, and Communication Systems).
  • Experience in strategic and operational leadership roles in complex M&E projects.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and motivate teams.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex projects and teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong understanding of contractual, commercial, and risk management principles.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
