Purpose:

To assist Project Manager in the delivery of Project Investment Plan (PIP) objectives in the following areas:

  • Delivering site business benefits through implementation of major capital projects (>£10m). This encompass leading a group of multi-disciplinary professionals from inception of the project to the realization of business benefits.
  • Safely delivers the engineered, procured, constructed and commissioned Capital Facilities against agreed Scope and Project Plan to meet the business and project objectives and quality expectations.
  • Compliance to local government regulatory requirement
  • Managing capital project performance management using GSK Production System (GPS) to drive safety, Quality, Cost and Schedule performance and waste elimination through continuous improvements.
  • Compliance to applicable industrial standards and ensuring safety & quality compliance in alignment with GSK Global Supply Chain (GSC) requirements.

Communication and escalation of project progress, key risk and support requirements enabling successful delivery of the project and benefits realization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead / coordinate a team of multi-disciplinary and multi-functional professionals including engineers, designers, validation engineers, document controller, external contractors, safety & GMP professional and users to ensure capital projects delivery from inception to benefit realization
     
  • Lead the commissioning and qualification execution as per the Project Plan
     
  • Establishes and facilitates the Risk Management strategy including Risk Register, Assessment, Analysis and Contingency Management for the project and documents it in the Project Plan
     
  • Manage and execute projects in compliance with Safety & Quality standards
     
  • Manage and execute capital project implementation in accordance to the Global Capital Project Control Framework throughout the project life cycle and in accordance with local government legislation
     
  • Support the Design Lead to ensure capital facility that meets user requirements in terms of facility’s operability and maintainability in accordance with User Requirement Specification (URS), GSK standard engineering practices and Global Engineering Standards (mandatory).
     
  • Review recommended vendor selection list and submit to Project Manager for endorsement, as well as the approval of technical blueprints for construction works.
     
  • Support Project Manager in coordination, scheduling and reporting of activities related to stakeholder management and, business change management including project communications
     
  • Support Project Manager in the selection of contractors and suppliers and subsequent discharge of their responsibilities in accordance with the contract/purchase order
     
  • Establishes and maintains Project documentation and records and facilitates handover of final project documentation in accordance with customer requirements.
     
  • Support Project Manager to achieve both LEED and Green Mark certification and defined targets
     

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Professional

  • Minimum Degree in any engineering discipline

  • Minimum 8 years of working experience as Senior Project Engineer position

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the project management field or in chemical/pharmaceutical industry

Technical

  • Knowledge of industrial standards
  • Knowledge of cost estimation methodology
  • Knowledge of project schedule planning and control
  • Knowledge of GMP, GEP and EHS requirements
  • Appropriate knowledge of Local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Knowledge of GSK PM standard, Primary Supply Standard Engineering Practices (PMSEPs) relating to project management and Global Engineering Standards (GESs) relating to project management
