The Large Format Printing GBU is responsible for the business strategy, product portfolio and research and development for all HP Large Format Printing products at WW level, including HP DesignJet, HP PageWide XL, HP Latex and HP Stitch printers. About the role:

We are looking for an intern to contribute in Color Tools software  and Image Processing and, as part of the Color and Imaging team, combining part time job while studying at the university.
You will work in a team that investigates and implements algorithms to improve the fidelity of  scanned copies versus the original and automatically assess the print quality of our Large Format Printers, as well as other functionalities related to image processing.  Moreover, we develop tools to enable standardized evaluation of color attributes, such as color difference, color gamut (volume), repeatability, accuracy etc.

You will be assigned a mentor in our team that will help on your ramp up, guide you through the organization, will organize your onboarding process and support along this journey.

About you:

  • Computer Science studies (Currently studying 3rd or 4th year of bachelor’s or master’s degree)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience working in Python coding (standard python packages such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, plotly ) and basic SW design as well writing unit tests and C++.
  • Mathematical basis (algebra, vector/matrix operations, descriptive statistics).
  • Familiarity with versioning and use of git workflows and the GitHub platform
  • Some knowledge in basic Image Processing, Computer Vision, Color Science basics (e.g. color spaces, color conversions) will be valued.
  • High analytical, technical, and problem resolution capability.
  • Ability to work with a group of peers.
  • Enthusiasm, curiosity, participative and willing to bring new ideas.
  • Availability to start in September 2024
