In this critical role at our Los Angeles Facility, you will oversee the management of our state-of-the-art R&D facility. Your collaboration will be crucial to ensuring operational excellence in the construction, setup, maintenance, and handling of the facility and equipment. You will also work alongside multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists. This role demands hands-on high technical expertise, leadership, and organizational skills to match our rapid design, analysis, and integration pace.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the setup, construction, operation, and maintenance of the R&D facility and Equipment. 

  • Lead facility-related teams, ensuring compliance with aerospace development standards. 

  • Manage the operation of forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery. 

  • Conduct inventory management for R&D components and hardware, ensuring lab supplies and environmental compliance. 

  • Provide interface with equipment and people responsible for equipment (10% interface connections and 90% facilities)

  • Coordinate with organizational Facilities teams for strategic alignment and operational efficiency. 

  • Develop and execute strategies for space management, maintenance reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of managerial experience in facilities management, with a preference for backgrounds in aerospace, engineering, or related fields. 

  • Proficiency in safety-critical hardware, mechanical tools, and shop equipment management. 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a strong focus on building an inclusive culture. 

  • Experience working closely with Health and Safety Officers, Directors, and Budget Owners. 

  • Familiarity with Coupa, Jira, and Wiki Confluence or similar for operational management. 

  • Knowledgeable in material fabrication, pressurized system safety, and heavy equipment operation. 

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, and familiarity with quality processes (AS9100, Lean, 5’s, etc.). 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administrations, engineering construction management or related field 

  • 10+ years of management and leadership experience in facilities management. 


 

Compensation Range for:

CA applicants is $42.47-$59.45

Other site ranges may differ
