This role is onsite 5 days a week in La Mirada, CA 

Role Overview 

The Central Produce Buyer plays a crucial role in maximizing profitability through managing fresh produce procurement, developing sales strategy, ensuring optimal inventory, and promotion planning. This role requires strong vendor management, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain the best product quality with competitive pricing across all regions. The ideal candidate possesses a keen understanding of market trends and strong negotiation skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing both strategies and hands-on execution to optimize sales and operations. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Drive produce sales growth through effective assortment strategies, margin management, and promotion planning.
  • Monitor product quality and inventory levels, and take proactive measures to manage shelf life and availability.
  • Oversee inventory allocation and internal transfer with regional teams to ensure product quality and timely arrival
  • Execute impactful promotions by identifying high-quality, in-demand items at optimal pricing.
  • Manage purchase orders working with vendors, warehouse team, and supply chain team to ensure seamless fulfillment.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing, quality, and product availability.
  • Address AP (Accounts Payable) issues through proactive vendor communication.
  • Analyze sales performance data, inventory levels, and customer service reports to refine sales strategies and resolve problems.
  • Prepare reports and insights for weekly management meetings.

Qualifications 

  • 4+ years of experience in a relevant role within the industry, with expertise in fresh produce products. 
  • Passion for retail and a strong desire to deepen industry knowledge.
  • Experienced with Excel, Tableau dashboards and other data analysis tools
  • Proficiency in analyzing market trends and sales performance are a plus.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

Compensation Range

  • The US base salary range for this full-time position is $
  • This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits 
  • Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
