As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of specialists you will develop, integrate, and qualify automated joining processes for Blue Origin’s manufacturing. You will work with a team of welding engineers, automation engineers, and operators to seek sophisticated challenges related to process implementation, monitoring, and inspection. We seek people who are passionate about space and possess a strong desire to continuously learn and improve. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

This role requires strong attention to detail and a passion for providing more than just the numbers. Responsibilities:

  • Lead Manufacturing-related Projects
  • Production Support- Production Scheduling, Theory of Constraints, Budgets and Forecasts, Crew Empowerment, Defect Analysis and Benchmarking Analysis, Core Competency Definition, Resource Allocation, Scenario Planning, Descrete Event Simulation, Make/Buy Evaluations, and Cost/Price Evaluations.
  • Process Improvement- Lean Manufacturing, Engineering Economic Analysis, Process Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Methods, Six Sigma, Time Studies, Waste Reduction, and Work Sampling
  • Operations improvement- Ergonomic and Human Factors, Operations Plans, Recovery planning, Capacity planning, Capital planning
  • Integrated Systems- Value Stream Analysis, Facility Layouts, Production Systems Design, Manufacturing Process Design, Systems Thinking, Facilities Planning, and Requirements

Qualifications:

  • BS in Industrial Engineering, or related engineering degree.
  • 10+ years proven experience working directly with manufacturing in a production environment
  • Experience in machine shops and fabrication environments
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing and/or facilities planning
  • 3+ years of factory flow and process modeling and simulations experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading continuous improvement and value stream mapping events.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Strong analytic skill set and a high degree of proficiency in data mining
  • Outstanding with Excel and manual data analysis
  • Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills
  • Self-Starter
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Operations Management, Construction Management, MSE and/or MBA
  • Experience transitioning development to production
  • Manned space flight production experience
  • Strong teaming skills
  • Experience with manufacturing organizations and/or supply chain
  • Hands-on experience with materials and manufacturing processes


 


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $126,201.00-$176,681.40

Other site ranges may differ
