The Covey Center for the Arts is looking for a responsible individual to perform in the role of part-time Guest Services Worker. Qualified, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply.

What is the compensation?

Pay Rate: $11.00 per hour. Payment will be made by direct deposit.

What will I do?

  • Help prepare and service facility and client needs for upcoming events.

  • Perform various duties including cashiering, ushering, security, assisting the public with directions, assisting with sanitizing and custodial operations, work with ushers, do minor lifting and moving (programs, tables, and chairs as needed).

  • Adapt to various positions and fill in where needed.

  • Assist other staff as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

What do I need to apply?

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • Experience working with the public.

  • Experience with cash handling.

  • Any experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the essential duties.

What are the hours?

Schedule is based on performances or events Monday through Saturday. Typical hours are between 6pm and 11pm with occasional daytime matinees.

What are the physical and environmental factors?

This work requires: walking; sitting; bending; reaching; and lifting (up to 50 lbs.) This work may require climbing stairs in dimly lit or dark areas and standing for long periods of time. May require working with crowds and in stressful situations.

What is the selection process?

Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on September 24, 2025. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
