We are seeking a talented individual to join our Claims Construction Team at Marsh. This role will be based either in Sydney or Melbourne office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

In this role, you will provide high level of claims management services to clients and brokers through consulting, advisory, advocacy and negotiation. You will manage, resolve disputes and claims that arise during construction projects. You will play a significant role in risk management and loss prevention and may involve legal and financial aspects of construction.
We will count on you to:
- Ideally someone with strong understanding of construction processes, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to interpret contractual obligations and legal requirements.
- Analyse construction documents and conducting investigations.
- Preparing detailed reports and negotiating settlements.
- Reviewing contracts and project documents to identify potential issues.
- Collaborating with legal teams to support litigation or arbitration processes.
- Interpreting and actioning assessor, adjusting and expert reports, managing and instructing investigations and implementing findings in accordance with the overall strategy
- Manage portfolio of complex material damage / construction claims effectively to achieve solid financial outcomes through effective decision making
- Preparation for and attendance at settlement conferences, hearings, and other dispute resolution activities
- Maintain the claims management system, including claim estimates.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and ethical standards, liaising with stakeholders as necessary.
What you need to have:
- 3+ years’ experience in construction or property claims or related field
- Diploma Financial Services or bachelor’s degree would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions, solve problems and establish work priorities, either while working independently or as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise, communicate and negotiate with a wide range of personnel from public and private sectors.
- Effective computer literacy, including basic skills in MS Excel, Outlook & Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
