Safety Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring safety compliance for, but not limited to, all exterior and at times interior areas serviced by the company to ensure the personal and physical safety of employees.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Performs and documents exterior safety observations. 

  • Conducts training, inspections and audits to ensure regulatory, customer and company compliance. 

  • Coaches employees on safe behavior to include safe lifting methods, cart procedures, avoiding slips and falls, ramp safety, driver safety, etc. 

  • Attends and/or facilitate unit safety meetings. 

  • Assists in development and implementation of programs that ensure regulatory, customer and company compliance.  

  • Mentors unit staff and drives a strong safety culture with a focus on external operations. 

  • Coordinates assigned projects that reduce injuries and/or increases operational reliability.   

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule to include nights, holidays and weekends; occasional travel as required 

  • Regularly attends and participates in daily supervisor shift briefings  

  • Assists the regional safety and risk department and performs other duties as required.

  • At times supports environmental efforts and program as managed by Corporate and Regional EHS teams 

 

Qualifications 

 Education: 

  • High school diploma required 

  • Associate’s degree preferred 

 

Work Experience: 

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in safety and/or risk experience required   

  • Previous experience in airline, food, distribution operations or other fast-paced environment preferred. 

 

Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration) 

  • Ability to interpret OSHA and other federal regulations.  

  • Working knowledge of MS Office products. 

  • Valid Driver’s License  

 

Language / Communication Skills: 

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

Work Environment / Requirements of the Job:  

  • Regularly stands, walks, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 10+ hours.  

  • In a normal production kitchen facility there may be physical discomfort due to temperature and noise.  

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move product, equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds.  

  • Job requires walking, standing at a time for long periods.
