Banner University Medical Center - 1111 E McDowell Rd, Phoenix AZ

Shift: Varied Shift (most shifts are M-F but there may be an occasional Saturday needed) You will pick up shifts in advance to drive the bus to scheduled events.

In this role you will be operating/Driving the mobile unit to and from community and corporate events. You will Perform general care and maintenance of vehicles (e.g. gas, schedules oil changes, tune ups, washed, vacuumed, etc.). Performs daily vehicle inspections, completes, and accurately inventories and inspects medical equipment, supplies assigned to the vehicle. Assists the techs and coordinator as needed. A CDL is not required but recommended and we can help cover the costs of the courses

 Registry/Per Diem positions do not have guaranteed hours and no medical benefits package is offered. Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check (includes employment, criminal and education) is required.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position transports employees in the Banner Children’s HealthMobile or Big Pink Bus Mobile Mammography Unit to various facilities and contracted locations and assists in providing patient care under general supervision from RN, APN, PA or Physician. Ensures that the vehicle is maintained and stocked for optimal care to the patient population.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Operates an assigned vehicle in non-emergent situations and in varying weather conditions, providing safe, reliable and timely transport to a designated point of service.

2. Provides medical care to designated pediatric or adult populations, which may include assessing patient condition, rendering of appropriate care, administering medications and interventions.

3. Performs general care and maintenance of vehicles (e.g. gas, schedules oil changes, tune ups, washed, vacuumed, etc.). Performs daily vehicle inspections, completes and accurately inventories and inspects medical equipment, supplies and medications assigned to the vehicle.

4. Reports all mechanical problems or concerns of vehicle to supervisor and maintains accurate log of vehicle runs and all other vehicle activity.

5. Maintains complete and accurate patient care reports (PCRs), prepares and maintains logs and/or other applicable records during assigned shift.

6. Monitors supply stock levels and reports needs. Notifies housekeeping, maintenance, biomedical engineering, and others to ensure proper equipment and a safe environment is maintained. Maintains appropriate levels of stock in medication room, exam room bedside carts, and specialty carts. Assists with health unit coordination tasks and reception responsibilities as needed.

7. Facility based position. Responsible for the timely delivery of services with a strong focus on customer service. Customers are staff, physicians, patients, family members, visitors and multiple off campus business offices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge and AZDOT Medical Clearance Card.

Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. In Arizona: Either Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-B) with state licensure, or EMT National registry certification is required for new hires and transfers.

Must be able to operate company owned vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company’s auto insurance policy with an excellent driving record. Must be knowledgeable of the street layout and grid of the assigned locations. Ability to interpret verbal and written information/instructions and effectively communicate with others. Must demonstrate the ability to function effectively with minimal supervision in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Skilled in reading, writing and comprehending English. Skilled in comprehending and following written and verbal instructions. Skilled in remaining calm in emergency situations. Skilled in operating a variety of modern office equipment. Skilled in operating a variety of ambulatory tools and equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bilingual in Spanish and English

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
