Job Summary
The Manager, Customer Communications and Events plays a pivotal role in advancing McKesson Canada’s Pharmaceutical Distribution and Retail Banner business in Québec, by developing and executing impactful B2B communications strategies. This role collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to shape compelling narratives and strategic messaging that reflects McKesson’s commitment to innovation, partnership, and Advancing Health Outcomes for All™.
As a leader within the Customer Communications and Events team, this role leads content and event initiatives that build awareness, drive customer engagement, and reinforce McKesson’s value to retail pharmacies, institutions, and our Proxim and Uniprix retail banner brands. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Brand Stewardship
Serve as the customer communications lead for all regional projects, programs and initiative, ensuring alignment with McKesson Canada’s customer communications brand guidelines.
Develop and deliver clear, customer and/or member-focused external communications across applicable channels, along with internal key messaging that equips account teams and customer service to confidently represent key initiatives.
Leverage the McKesson Canada corporate brand as a strategic anchor to guide communications direction and ensure consistent positioning of the organization and its strategic priorities with internal stakeholders.
Responsibility for contributing to positive narratives through the use of digital/social media channels to highlight good news stories.
Manage communications projects from planning through execution, ensuring delivery within defined scope, timelines, and budget.
Event Development & Oversight
Facilitate and manage content requirements for business leaders for regional customer events and/or trade shows, including presentations, speaking engagements, and other customer-facing material.
In collaboration with the Sr. Communications and Events Associate, contribute to strategic elements of the RBG Proxim and Uniprix event portfolio, including communications, content (Congres) and overall member experience.
Leadership & Strategic Support
Supervise and mentor the Sr. Communications and Events Associate, providing guidance, feedback, and opportunities for professional development to foster their growth within the broader B2B Marketing & Communications Team and ensure alignment with departmental objectives.
Participate as the designated B2B Communications representative in strategic meetings with members and internal committees in Québec,
Measure, analyze, and report on the performance of communications issued to customers/members in Québec; continually monitor metrics, adjusting messaging to maximize impact and effectiveness when needed.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with cross-functional teams, including Commercial Operations, Customer Care, Government Affairs, and others, to lead integrated communications planning and ensure alignment and execution across initiatives.
Serve as the regional customer communications lead for pharmaceutical distribution and retail banner teams in Québec, building strong partnerships and maintaining a deep understanding of their current environments and challenges. Use these insights to inform communications and event strategies/ initiatives.
Collaborates closely with the Director, Customer Communications and Events to turn strategic priorities into actionable communications plans, supporting execution across banner initiatives and ensuring alignment with broader B2B messaging frameworks.
Partner with brand marketing colleagues for design needs, banner brand direction, and collaborate closely with the B2B marketing team to ensure strategic alignment and execution.

Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Communications, Marketing, or Business.
7+ years of experience developing, implementing, and leading communications strategies.
3+ years of leadership experience with one or more direct reports
Proven experience in B2B communications, preferably for a large organization within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
Bilingual proficiency (French and English)
Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms such as Marketo, Swoogo, and Salesforce is an asset.
Travel within Canada required to support onsite member event needs.
The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States. Therefore, he/she must be proficient in spoken and written English. Please note that the number of positions requiring English language skills has been limited where possible.
