Meet the team:
You will be part of the Global Engineering team within Operations, tasked with end-to-end technical oversight of our manufacturing technologies spanning our suppliers and contract manufactures. Join the Global Engineering Operations team, connecting R&D and Operations for new product introductions in developing processes and governance structures for overseeing external contract manufacturers and suppliers. Responsibilities include managing Dexcom equipment and mold assets, tracking supplier performance, sustaining engineering, and improving outcomes at global contract manufacturing (CM) partners. You will troubleshoot process-related issues, resolve supplier inefficiencies, and address quality issues impacting Dexcom’s internal manufacturing lines. You will participate in cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality supply from Suppliers & CMs. Collaborate across multiple functions, gaining broad exposure to the entire product life cycle.
Where you come in:
You will oversee the establishment of new contract manufacturers for high-volume, precision medical device applications.
You will improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, enhance quality, and ensure stability of manufacturing processes at suppliers and contract manufacturers.
You will lead supplier strategy and change initiatives; implement new processes, root cause analyses, and problem-solving systems such as DMAIC, A3, Lean Six Sigma.
You will collaborate with internal manufacturing engineering teams to drive improvements at CMs and Suppliers.
You will work with cross-functional departments in NPI, Quality Assurance, R&D, Internal Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Regulatory.
You will assess engineering resource and equipment requirements to achieve corporate goals and product commercialization roadmap.
You will contribute technical expertise and conduct complex analysis on manufacturing processes, DFM, and best manufacturing techniques.
You will provide updates and presentations to your functional management team.

You must be able and capable to travel to our automation vendors and contract manufacturing partners to investigate production or quality related issues and troubleshoot equipment.
You collaborate with R&D on design for manufacturing considerations for new product development and work with injection molding toolmakers to provide oversight into mold and part design for high-scale manufacturing. You support the development of productive partnerships for stable on-market performance and drive continuous improvement efforts.
You drive innovation in approach, processes, and methodologies while ensuring adherence to company, customer, and industry requirements and specifications. You lead the identification and implementation of technology and process solutions to enhance performance and achieve both short-term and long-term objectives.
Key Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, plastics engineering, or a related field.
Experience in the commercialization of high-volume, precision Class II medical device products, preferably in contract manufacturing. Experience with equipment/tooling qualification, including DFM, FOT, MFAT, FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ, PV, DOE.
Expert in statistical process control (SPC) and proficient in using software tools such as Minitab or JMP for data analysis, process troubleshooting and optimization.
Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN, KAIZEN, and Six Sigma methodologies to significantly enhance process efficiency, reduce operational costs, and elevate product quality standards.
Ability to manage projects, maintain timelines, and execute manufacturing improvement projects in an Operations environment.
Aptitude for dealing with ambiguity/uncertainty in a dynamic environment; capability to create processes/systems to fill gaps.

Experience and Education Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 13+ years related experience or a Master’s degree and 8+ years equivalent industry experience of a PhD and 5+ years of experience.
