PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible overseeing assigned locations accounting teams in the day-to-day activities, while developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures ensuring accurate and timely financial statements. This role is responsible for general ledger, financial reporting, product costing, and results analysis, budgeting and forecasting.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:       

• Monitor, analyze, prepare and report assigned complex(s) performance, cost drivers and variances related to operational costs of various products and processes including all facets of operations with emphasis on financial and production related analysis (i.e. yields, OT, downtime, etc.)
• Oversee monthly closing process and issuance of performance and financial reports for assigned complexes
• Prepare and oversee the analysis of weekly manufacturing/conversion costs per business segment including weekly profit and loss for all assigned locations
• Oversee month-end reconciliations of all accounts, processing of employee sales and payroll
• Oversee general ledger entries and assist with identifying fluctuations and root causes; reconcile and balance accounts and report to appropriate complex leadership
• Oversee preparation of financial statements including balance sheet, trial balance, and income statement; distribute to appropriate personnel
• Work corroboratively with other departments ensuring departmental or location goals are met or exceeded
• Mentor, coach and train/ cross-train employees encouraging career development; provide consistent feedback concerning strengths and areas in need of improvement
• Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions on a fair and consistent basis
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage accounting teams at multiple locations
• This role is a Leader of Leaders role with required competencies: Strategic Agility, Business

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline from an accredited institution; Masters’ degree preferred
• CPA or CMA accreditation referred

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Minimum six (6) years’ relevant manufacturing accounting experience; experience in the food processing industry preferred
• Demonstrated three (3) years’ leadership experience including knowledge of timekeeping requirements, policy adherence, Top 25 behaviors, conflict resolution and  the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft (Word, Excel, etc.); Knowledge of Adage and M-Tech software preferred
• Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner
• Must have exceptional communication, both verbal and written, attention to detail and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively 
• Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
• Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to walk throughout the plant/complex
• May sit for extended periods while performing duties
• Ability to travel between assigned locations
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
