Position Summary

The Planning Expert/Super User is responsible for the configuration, optimization, governance, and continuous improvement of planning systems to maximize automation, forecasting performance, inventory effectiveness, and planner productivity. The role acts as the bridge between business planning teams, process owners, and IT organizations, ensuring planning tools are properly configured and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Planning System Governance & Configuration

• Manage planning system configuration and parameterization to maximize process automation.
• Define and maintain forecasting, inventory optimization, and order planning parameters.
• Configure and govern planning workflows, approvals, and local settings.
• Manage tool master data, template uploads, structural changes, and system maintenance activities.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery processes.

Forecasting & Inventory Optimization

• Refine forecasting model parameters to improve system forecast accuracy.
• Define optimization scenarios and requirements to achieve service level and inventory targets.
• Monitor forecast performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Validate demand forecasts, inventory optimization outputs, and order planning recommendations.
• Conduct simulations and analytical studies to support strategic planning decisions.

Planning Process Leadership

• Orchestrate planning process execution across the network.
• Monitor planning drivers such as lead times, demand variability, and inventory settings.
• Analyze planner overrides and identify process adherence or system performance issues.
• Lead approval processes for simulations, change requests, and optimization activities.
• Act as the first point of escalation for complex planning system issues.

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

• Provide advanced user support and coaching to planners.
• Perform root cause analysis on planning exceptions and system issues.
• Partner with business process managers, architects, data stewards, and IT teams to implement improvements.
• Support development and enhancement of reports, dashboards, and analytics.
• Drive adoption of planning best practices and process standardization.

Required Skills & Experience

Education and experience:

Four-year or Graduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations management, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in supply chain or a related field.

Technical Skills

• Advanced knowledge of planning systems (e.g., Servigistics/SVG or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of forecasting, inventory management, and supply planning concepts.
• Experience with system parameterization, optimization models, and scenario analysis.
• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and dashboard management.

• Ability to influence stakeholders across functions and geographies.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Strong project and process management experience.
