A Lot About You

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial leader to drive the strategy for growth around our portfolio of daily games.

Reporting into the GM of Yahoo News, you will lead efforts to transform and scale online games at Yahoo and play a pivotal role in managing a cross-functional team, setting priorities that will deliver user value and propel growth through engaging, fun and unique daily web games.

Your primary objective will be to refine and implement the growth strategy for Yahoo’s Games business by uncovering new opportunities for business development and partnerships, driving new product development and integration and optimizing operations. You will define the direction for Yahoo’s web games offering, set ambitious goals, and execute initiatives and product roadmaps. You will also have experience and in-depth knowledge of the games space.
 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the P&L and drive audience and revenue growth for Yahoo Games. 

  • Develop and deliver on a product roadmap that can drive positive outcomes through a great experience with smart monetization. 

  • Identify and develop new ways to grow Games by leveraging Yahoo’s unique portfolio and user base.

  • Identify partners and suppliers with titles that meet our users’ interests. 

  • Lead and inspire a team while also driving collaboration and partnership with cross-functional partners (Partnerships, Marketing, Content, etc.) as well as Product and Engineering partners.

  • Monitor game performance and drive KPI targets for the product and its features.

  • Drive retention strategies, optimize user engagement, and ensure a seamless experience across platforms.

  • Partner with Analytics to establish experimentation roadmap, using A/B testing to meet goals and derive product and player insights.

  • Stay up-to-date of industry trends, emerging technologies, and user needs to identify and capitalize on new games opportunities that deliver value to our users and drive business growth.

  • Develop successful relationships with external partners to deliver meaningful business outcomes.
     

Qualifications

  • Passion for online games and deep understanding of the web games ecosystem and competitive landscape

  • Experience as a Product Leader building and scaling consumer experiences 

  • Experience operating with and/or leading cross-functional teams (product management, engineering, legal, finance, marketing, etc.)

  • Ability to contribute at high levels strategically and operationally

  • Well-developed skills and judgment for assessing and balancing competing factors like quality, scope, cost, risk and time

  • Ownership mentality: willingness to take responsibility for the team and product outcomes 

  • Experience working collaboratively with development teams to deliver innovative solutions

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executives, editors, and technical teams.

  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for identifying and driving the development of new games-related opportunities that add value to users and contribute to business growth.

The compensation for this position ranges from $159,140.00 - $346,075.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
