Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Nursing to oversee and manage our team of nursing professionals in a specialty pharmacy setting. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our team of nurses and nurse managers delivers exceptional telephonic patient care, focusing on medication adherence, adverse event screening and reporting, and adverse event mitigation. The Senior Manager of Nursing will interface with internal senior leadership, external biopharma clients, and prescribing physicians to maintain high standards of patient care and compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management:

    • Exhibit strong leadership skills that effectively motivate employees to provide outstanding customer service.

    • Provide strategic leadership and operational management for the nursing team.

    • Supervise, train, performance manage, and mentor nurse managers, ensuring they effectively lead their respective teams.

    • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, encouraging professional growth and development.

    • Assist with staffing model, budget and workforce planning.

    • Develop program, team enhancements and workflows to implement changes across functional areas.

    • Drive clinical innovation to ensure pipeline of new services and patient-centered solutions.

  • Patient Care Oversight:

    • Ensure the nursing team performs timely and compliant outbound calls to patients, in line with manufacturer contracts and accreditation requirements.

    • Monitor patient interactions to ensure high-quality care and adherence to clinical guidelines.

    • Work with the internal biopharma facing team and clinical oversight committee to develop and implement protocols for patient care calls, adverse event screening, and adverse event mitigation.

  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:

    • Participate in and assist with leading the Biologics clinical oversight committee and quality management committee.

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulatory and accreditation standards.

    • Ensure all patient interactions are documented accurately and in compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.

    • Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure adherence to best practices.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Act as a primary point of contact for internal senior leadership, providing regular updates and reports on team performance and patient outcomes.

    • Interface with external biopharma clients to ensure alignment with their requirements and expectations.

    • Provide thought leadership to biopharma clients to enhance patient programs.  This includes participating in quarterly business reviews with account managers to understand the needs of patients and providing thoughtful guidance back to those clients about potential solutions.

    • Collaborate with prescribing physicians to facilitate seamless patient care and communication.

    • Work with internal implementation team for new drug launches to ensure.

  • Operational Efficiency:

    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the nursing team.

    • Utilize data analytics and metrics to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor team performance, accuracy, patient outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.

    • Manage resource allocation and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and timely patient follow-ups.

Minimum Requirement

9+ years nursing experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

  • Registered Nurse with current unrestricted state licensure.

  • OCN certification preferred.

Critical Skills

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of nurses, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Strong communication, analytical thinking, interpersonal, and planning/execution skills.

  • Strong knowledge of nursing regulations, accreditation requirements related to patient care and medication management, and operations/business processes

  • Identify development areas to creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges and obstacles.

  • Ability to obtain additional state licensures as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a specialty pharmacy or telephonic nursing environment is highly desirable.

  • 5+ years previous oncology and/or rare diseases experience preferred.

  • 2+ years’ experience in Pharmacovigilance and adverse event reporting preferred.

  • Experience interacting/working with biopharma preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • A large percentage of time performing computer-based work is required.

  • Hybrid position-Office days required.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$84,300 - $140,500
