The Program
This is a 10-week full time summer internship opportunity, commencing on June 2, 2026. Candidates must be available for the entire program to be considered.
The Bank Operations group consists of the following departments: Credit Operations, Electronic Payments, Collateral, Custody and Pledging Services, and Project Services. They are responsible for administering FHLBNY’s Correspondent Services which include Safekeeping Services, Deposit Services, and Wire Transfers.
The intern will support Bank Operations’ project efforts with a goal to modernize the back-office workflows, create efficiencies within the operations by leveraging technology tools and advancing FHLBNY bank-wide projects in defining innovative solutions helping to reduce operational risk and increase effectiveness.
Primary responsibilities
Analyze process flows to identify streamlining and efficiency opportunities.
Evaluate business functions and processes including those related to wire transfers, credit operations and collateral.
Draft workflow diagrams to identify those where AI or other information technology tools could be leveraged.
Create dashboards, draft Python scripts or AI agents.
Generate project documentation as required.
Assist with daily work as appropriate.
Skills & Experience
Understanding of business management or finance.
Strong technology skills using and creating Python scripts and AI Agents.
Ability to create dashboards
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point Applications.
Excellent analytical skills.
Detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Strong organizational skills
Education: College coursework required in business management / finance with an information technology focus.
Salary: $27 per hour
