Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $87,200.00 - $130,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and data-driven Product Manager II to join our Borrower Risk Management agile release train here at NextGear Capital. This role combines the strategic vision of product management with the execution focus of a product owner. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that improve borrower risk assessment, drive operational efficiency, and align with our strategic roadmap. The ideal candidate will excel in backlog management, agile delivery, and translating complex data into actionable product features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap
    • Partner with Product Managers and UX to influence product strategy and roadmap for borrower risk mitigation.
    • Map requirements to target markets and analyze segments to actively pursue.
    • Define archetypical users and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Agile Delivery & Backlog Management
    • Support release train and scrum teams in PI planning, backlog prioritization, and defect management.
    • Create, prioritize, and recommend epics and features; manage user stories and acceptance criteria.
    • Collaborate with scrum teams to build, enhance, and manage products through full lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
    • Manage stakeholder engagement, address problems, and collect feedback.
    • Represent customer requirements to drive feature implementation and development with technology teams.
    • Coordinate across multiple delivery streams or release trains to deliver on a unified vision.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making
    • Translate data into quantifiable actions or deliverables.
    • Conduct analysis and performance monitoring for specified products, supporting problem resolution and contributing to product launches.
    • Leverage KPIs and analytics to identify opportunities for testing and product enhancements.
  • Risk Management & Compliance
    • Apply risk management principles to product decisions, preferably in financial services or lending.
    • Ensure adherence to standards and traceability in scoping, requirements, and prioritization activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2+ years of experience in a related field; or equivalent combination (Master’s + up to 2 years; or 6 years without degree).
  • Working knowledge of SAFe Agile methodology.
  • Experience in backlog management, user story creation, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Ability to translate complex data requirements into clear product features.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in design, development, and implementation of product plans and full product lifecycle methodologies.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with risk management principles, preferably in financial services or lending.
  • Familiarity with data products, analytics platforms, or risk scoring systems.
  • Ability to generate ideas for enhancing performance and achieving KPIs.
  • Technology savvy with foundational skills in requirements analysis and system integration.
