Section A – Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, PMO, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing and delivering complex projects across various departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to guide project teams and stakeholders toward success.

The Senior Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of multiple projects and portfolios to meet business objectives. They will collaborate with other McKesson Project Managers, address project issues, and ensure clear, consistent communication across the organization.

Section B – Duties & Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee all phases of project life cycles from initiation to closure.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Coordinate internal resources and vendors as needed for seamless execution.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Assign responsibilities, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback.
  • Serves as a resource and mentor to less experienced colleagues, providing guidance and support.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and achievements to stakeholders and executives.
  • Manage expectations and maintain strong relationships with clients, sponsors, and partners.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and timelines.
  • Optimize resource utilization across concurrent projects.
  • Evaluate project outcomes and processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement best practices and methodologies to enhance project efficiency.

Section C – Requirements

  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related filed. A Masters degree is a plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP certified) is required
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies – preferred

 Experience:

  • 7+ years of project management experience with a proven track record managing medium to large-scale projects.
  • Proficient in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Preferred: Experience in system implementations.
  • Preferred: Experience in the healthcare industry, specifically with Patient Support Programs, Specialty Pharmacy, Hospital and/or Infusion Clinic Networks.

  • Expertise in process improvement and change management, with the ability to anticipate and adapt to change.
  • Strong analytical skills to quickly understand business processes and supporting systems.
  • Sound judgment and business acumen for managing sensitive projects and contexts.
  • Skilled in stakeholder communication, both internal and external.
  • Creative problem solver and effective collaborator with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, SharePoint, Visio, Office 365, Smartsheet, and JIRA.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable in dynamic environments.
  • Experienced in influencing indirect teams at all organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership, managerial, and negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$86,600 - $144,300
