Social Value Business Partner

Remote, hybrid role; there will be an expectation of branch/client visits. We are offering a salary of up to £50,000.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team as a Social Value Business Partner. Working across Mears Group, you will be the key point of contact for our teams in relation to social value, as well as maintaining key relationships with our suppliers and external stakeholders within this space. Working closely with our clients, colleagues, residents and the wider communities, you will offer support for the delivery of the Groups ESG & Social Impact strategies, to ensure we continue to make a difference to people’s lives.

About the role:

The successful Social Value Business Partner will help to protect and enhance the Mears brand, positioning Mears as a socially responsible business and a great place to work. As a champion for social value, you will set the standard for all of our business units and offer a range of support from working on business development opportunities through to inputting on localised branch social value plans, contributing to the practical delivery against client requirements.

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

Role Criteria

  • To support and deliver social value training across the Group, including training on our Social Value Portal tool
  • Support delivery of social value commitments as outlined in the Social Impact approach
  • Develop and deliver national activity that is innovative, relevant and sector driven – poverty, social inclusion, education, homelessness
  • Using insight to develop and deliver projects that continually improve our approach to Social Value
  • Coach contract CSM’s to develop and deliver high impact social value plans
  • Maintain the SV knowledge hub and positively promote SV activities
  • Maintain a network of external stakeholders and community partners
  • Support data collection process and recording of information for monthly/yearly reporting
  • To support work winning and retention opportunities by writing SV tender submissions as required
  • To support retention/achievement of SV accreditations and awards when asked
  • Support the business with embedding and adhering to all social value related policy and procedures
  • Extensive Knowledge of Social Value
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to attend meetings and events with internal/external audiences, including client core groups and business development interviews where needed
