In this role you will process all transfers to NYP Hospital will follow the Inter-hospital Transfer Policy. Obtain clinical information for all transfer requests from requestor. Triages case to the appropriate service line attending. Collaborates with admitting teams as well as departmental leadership to facilitate admission of patients. This includes the identification of the appropriate level of care for admission, the appropriate needs of the patients, and identification and facilitation of admission to the appropriate part of the medical service in consonance with this. Coordination of communication amongst the patient care team.

This is a per diem night shift from 7:30pm-8:00am including some weekends and holidays (up to 13 shifts per month), located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Masters in nursing or related field, If Masters in Nursing, BSN can be preferred.
  • Critical Care, ED or Progressive Care Experience.

Required Criteria:

  • BSN required
  • BCLS/ACLS
  • Masters in Nursing or related field. If Masters in Nursing, BSN can be preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience
  • Current NYS RN Licensure
  • Computer skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and effective communications skills.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of critical pathways, managed care and continuum of care.
  • Demonstrate the ability to initiate, accept and adapt to change, flexible.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
