Summary:
As an Application Lead, you will lead the effort to design, build, and configure applications, acting as the primary point of contact. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that application requirements are met, overseeing the development process, and providing guidance to team members. You will also engage in problem-solving activities, ensuring that solutions are effectively implemented across multiple teams, while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency in application delivery.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand business objectives and translate them into detailed SAP Architecture requirements
• Create high-level architectural blueprints and detailed technical designs for SAP solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and SAP roadmaps for on-premises, Cloud Hyper-V’s and SAP on RISE Hosting.
• Design and implement strategies for seamlessly integrating SAP Applications with other Enterprise applications, third-party systems, and legacy applications.
• Implement robust security measures and ensure data protection compliance within the SAP landscape.
• Oversee the implementation lifecycle, including technical feasibility assessments, risk management, and working with development, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure proper implementation.
• Analyse system performance and implement optimizations to ensure the efficiency and functionality of SAP applications.
• Mentor junior architects and developers and provide technical leadership on large-scale SAP projects.
• Deep knowledge on various SAP offerings like SAP AS ABAP & JAVA Stack and databases supported by SAP (HANA/SYBASE IQ/MAX DB/Oracle/MS SQL/DB2 UDB).
• Design platform layout (hardware / family type) for SAP landscapes and knowledge on network concepts for SAP workload on Hyper scaler (Azure/AWS/GCP) and On-prem and design compatibility for sizing layout for SAP environment.
• Hands on experience on SAP Eco-system High-Availability Cluster & Disaster Recovery setup and troubleshooting.
• Hands on Application lifecycle management- build, validations, upgrades, patching, conversion and performance optimization of SAP S/4 HANA Suites (S/4HANA, BW/4HANA) and SAP Business suite (ECC, BW, APO, PI/PO, MII, SLT, GRC, BI/BODS, Solution manager) for On-prem, Cloud & SAP Rise hosting.
• Hands-on experience of SAP BTP services administration (Integration Suite, ADS, Datasphere, BWZ, HANA Cloud, Cloud ALM, CTMS) and other SaaS Solutions like Ariba, Success factor, IBP, and worked on integrations with Cloud Connector and Backend SAP & 3rd party system.
• Hands on Experience on OS/DB migration & upgrades with knowledge on SAP Service Market Place, SAP Maintenance Planner, SWPM, SUM tools. Understand CQC Reports and support Pre-Go live checks and post go-live checks with On-prem, Cloud & SAP on RISE hosting.
• SAP stack and platform Security – good knowledge on SAP Application and HANA security including SSL/TLS/SSFS/LSS/KMS/SSO/SAML.
• Knowhow on Cloud Advanced security for SAP (Roles, IAM, IDP, IPS, Active directory etc.)
• Knowledge on SAP supported output management architectures such as CUPS, Print Server,
• Know how on Integrations for friends of SAP – OpenText (VIM, Archive Server), Vertex, RedWood, Control-M, Revtrack, Blackline, Seeburger, GreenLight, WinShuttle, High Radius etc.
• Design Architecture for SAP Cloud Transport Management Solutions.
• Provide solutions to Design / Architecture issues.
• Mentor junior architects and technical teams and provide technical leadership on large-scale SAP projects.
• Effective communicator with ability to drive critical issues (P1/P2 or Migration) with cross-functional, Multi-vendor (SAP, 3rd parties) and client vendors.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Professional & Technical Skills:
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of SAP platforms and technologies, including cloud solutions, SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, SAP Fiori, and BTP (Business Technology Platform).
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of various business areas (e.g., finance, supply chain, HR) to effectively align SAP solutions with business processes.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with diverse teams, including business leaders, developers, and client stakeholders.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term architectural strategies and roadmaps for SAP implementations and digital transformations.
Additional skills for Technical Architect:
• Experience of resolving technical issues, deep problem-solving skills, including those involving 3rd parties and adopt new technologies for modernization.
• Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills, root cause eradication mindset, proactive approach, client user/customer centricity.
• Familiar with ITIL concepts of Service Management, Change Management and Root Cause Analysis and using the ITIL tools like ServiceNow, Jira, MS ADO, .
• Define enterprise Governance and Roadmap.
• Technical Architect design of HA/DR, Sizing, DR Planning along with process and project planning aspects like RAID, KDD management.
• Working on RFP/RFI Solutioning
• Able to design SAP landscape considering Security and Cost aspects.
• Track project progress, mitigate risk/shift rights and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Experience working in a global environment and with virtual teams.
