Business Banking (BB) manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s small-medium enterprise customers, mid-market corporate customers, major clients and regional and agribusiness customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions. It also services our personal and institutional online trading customers. 

Business Lending (BL) is a product and specialised sales team that offers working capital, business loans, asset finance, corporate finance, and property finance to our customers. It also has responsibility for Line 1 risk and controls for these products. BL is directly responsible for product management, process management, portfolio / pricing management and financial difficulty management. It also works closely with bankers, data and analytics, digital and customer experience teams.

Within Business Lending, Balance Sheet Management strive for sustainable and profitable growth through a diversified portfolio. We support Business Lending pricing, portfolio efficiency, and data governance across the domain, while also overseeing application fraud prevention and credit assurance to achieve our ambition.

Reporting the General Manager Balance Sheet Management, you will lead the Business Lending Data Strategy and partner with Product Owners, Crew Tech Leads and Product Managers to execute and deliver world class Data Products.

You will be expected to perform the following tasks in a manner consistent with CBA's Values and People Capabilities:

• Shape and deliver the Data Product Strategy for Business Lending, aligned with enterprise goals and our investment in Data and Technology.
• Champion a shift from traditional data stewardship to a product-led data delivery model.
• Establish clear data ownership across Business Lending service domains, aligned with enterprise standards.
• Ensure data products meet Group Data Office guidelines, including metadata, guardrail thresholds, and risk controls.
• Drive the uplift of metadata practices, ensuring data assets are well-described, discoverable, consumed and governed.
• Monitor and improve data product performance using metrics such as consumption, data quality, and user satisfaction.
• Partner with the Group Data Office and Business Bank Technology to embed data management practices and uplift data maturity.
• Lead delivery roadmaps and influence investment decisions for data product initiatives.
• Collaborate across domains including Risk, Finance, and Retail to ensure data products support enterprise-wide insights.
• Explore emerging technologies such as AI/ML, real-time data streaming, and semantic metadata to enhance capabilities.
• Engage with senior leaders across the Domain to provide visibility and influence over enterprise data practices.
• Work and collaborate with the Product Owners to support them and work with them on driving the Business Lending Data strategy.
• Foster an inclusive culture where diverse perspectives are welcomed and valued.
