Position Mission
The Stockroom Planning Manager is responsible for creating efficient stockroom product layouts, managing third-party stocking crews, and overseeing multiple store projects across the country. This role combines strategic planning and operational execution to ensure stockroom layouts optimize product flow and accessibility while adhering to standardized processes. The Stockroom Planning Manager oversees the planning, design, and execution of new store set-ups, relocations, and remodels, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and standard-compliant completion. This individual will act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, and project teams, ensuring seamless communication and execution of goals.

Responsibilities:
Stockroom Layout and Organization:
· Design and implement logical stockroom layouts using inventory spreadsheets and shelving plans.
· Organize products based on complementary product groupings, accessibility requirements and sales trends.
· Ensure the stockroom layout supports quick and accurate order picking and restocking processes.
Space Planning and Layout Design:
· Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts that optimize space utilization for automotive parts and products.
· Analyze inventory data and product dimensions to determine appropriate storage solutions (e.g., shelving, racking, pallet configurations).
· Design workflows that streamline picking, packing, and shipping processes while minimizing travel time and congestion.
· Continuously evaluate and adjust layouts to accommodate changes in inventory levels, product mix, and business needs
Innovation and Process Improvement:
· Develop and implement new methods for stocking and organizing products to improve efficiency.
· Identify opportunities to streamline stockroom operations and reduce time spent on locating and restocking items.
Collaboration and Communication:
· Work closely with purchasing, CAD, and District teams to align stockroom organization with business goals.
· Provide clear communication and training to 3rd party stocking crews on new layouts, stocking methods, and inventory processes.
Project Oversight and Coordination:
· Manage multiple projects across various locations simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
· Oversee third-party labor teams, ensuring they adhere to project specifications, safety standards, and company policies.
· Act as the primary liaison between the company and third-party vendors, resolving issues and maintaining strong working relationships.
· Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, identifying and addressing potential risks or delays
Experience, Education, and Abilities:
· 5+ years of experience managing teams and third-party vendors with store setup or space planning.
· BS degree or equivalent working experience.
· Adequate Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
· Ability to manage multiple projects at once, which will require prioritizing activities, managing timelines, and solving complex business challenges.
· Ability to communicate effectively, including project plan drafting, presentation development and delivery.
· Experience working with project management software preferred.
· Ability to lead through influence.
· Working knowledge of safety requirements preferred.
· Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
· Excellent individual and group communication skills.
· Sense of urgency with regard to deadlines and projects.
· Creative and able to manage time effectively.
· Thrive in a fast paced environment.
