Position Overview:

Insulet is a high-growth medical device company, with the mission of improving the lives of people with diabetes, listed on the NYSE (PODD). The Senior Accountant will support in the monthly/ quarterly accounting close and financial reporting process of Insulet’s EMEA business. The EMEA region consists of about 10 legal entities and/or branches. The Senior Accountant will report to the Manager, EMEA Accounting.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual accounting processes including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, SOX controls and audit support. Reporting to the Manager, EMEA Accounting, this all-round role is responsible for providing support to the EMEA accounting team as and when needed.

In this high-growth and fast-paced environment continuous development of the processes and systems is crucial. The successful candidate for this role should preferably have a track record of having identified and implemented process and systems improvements. As such, the Senior Accountant should provide a thorough understanding of ERP (preferably SAP4/Hana) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries in SAP for the assigned affiliates and areas (payroll and benefits accounting) as well as monitor entries posted by other accounting functions
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets reconciliations for the assigned accounts
  • Assist with the review of monthly US GAAP results and preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting to the US Parent company in relation to the 10Q/K consolidated reporting.
  • Support the quality and timeliness of internal control requirements associated with general ledger reporting, including SOX404.
  • Support the team in working with external advisors and auditors in the preparation and audits of statutory financial statements and supporting notes as well as the preparation of corporate tax computations, returns, and ad hoc tax requests.
  • Assist the Manager Accounting EMEA in the review of the accounting activities performed by the accountants in the team.
  • Involvement in special projects and ad-hoc reporting 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Strong knowledge of Excel and other Office tools, such as Analysis for Office.

Education and Experience

  • ACCA qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in financial roles working for companies in fast-paced environment.
  • Solid accounting knowledge (US GAAP preferred)
  • Awareness of Sarbanes Oxley legislation
  • Strong experience in working with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Prior experience in working in a fast-paced publicly traded company is a plus.
  • Preferably a track record of continuous development of processes and systems
     

Additional Information

  • The position is hybrid. The preferred location London or Utrecht.
  • Depending on business needs, may require non-frequent travel to non-local Insulet offices.
