Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible for dispensing and compounding medication, counseling patients on medication and health subjects; interpreting prescriptions, managing patient drug therapy for complications, and performing drug utilization.  He/She collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other health-care practitioners to provide safe, high quality, and cost-effective drug therapy.

FLOAT PHARMACIST JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Hours: 32/week; Shift: Day/Evening


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Float pharmacists work to cover anticipated time off for pharmacy associates across OhioHealth.
- A float pharmacist works inpatient, outpatient, and in our freestanding emergency departments performing clinical and operational duties. In this role, the pharmacist will have a variety of responsibilities dependent on the care site working.
- Float pharmacists are required to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends and are encouraged to work holidays.
- Members of our float team manage their own schedules based on the needs of the system by working directly with schedulers.
- Float Pharmacists are reimbursed for mileage to care sites. While the position is posted from our corporate office, the position rotates to various facilities in central Ohio and within the region.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
- Current Ohio pharmacist license
- Previous pharmacy experience
- Basic Life Support Certification—current or obtained during the orientation period (unless greater than 50% of scheduled work hours, as determined by the manager, are completed off-site or not in a patient care setting)


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

- PGY1 Residency training or equivalent experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (Required)OPL - Ohio Pharmacists License - Ohio Board of Pharmacy

BS or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution and a current Ohio pharmacist license. Completion of a Pharmacy Practice residency or equivalent hospital Experience . Pharmacology/Therapeutics for all age groups. Aseptic Technique and drug literature review. Previous hospital pharmacy Experience .
