This unique opportunity is for our Allegro Coffee headquarters cafe in Thornton, CO.
The ideal candidate for our Café Team Member position is passionate about customer service, has an outgoing and friendly personality, is committed to the principles of teamwork and skill development. The candidate has some food handling and sanitation background including proper glove and mask use, and should have a passion for the craft of espresso production. Job Summary
You’ll be sharing your talent in crafting a quality cup of coffee with our single-origin and top-tier specialty blends. There are no automated machines with buttons here – you’ll be grinding, tamping and hand pulling espresso shots. You’ll also need a steady hand to brew pour overs, specialty loose leaf tea, and participate in cuppings to stay current with Allegro’s latest offerings. You’ll be sharing your passion and knowledge of coffee and tea with our customers, handling the morning rush with grace and calmness, and providing unparalleled customer service.
Duties include daily brewing, espresso machine operation, cash register operation, retail store upkeep, and sales of Allegro coffee.
Responsibilities
Performs all duties and responsibilities as communicated by the Allegro Café Team Leader.
Provides excellent customer service, creating an environment where the customer comes first.
Brewed and espresso coffee drink preparation and tea preparation.
Food preparation
Maintains high level of product quality by adhering to all Allegro recipes and drink quality standards.
Keeps work area clean at all times, ensuring a sanitary and orderly work environment for drink preparation.
Daily sales, cash register operation and end of day cash count.
Maintains extensive knowledge of Allegro products and suggestively sells when appropriate.
Front desk coverage when needed. Checking in guests, sorting packages, maintaining supply closet, providing team member coffee, and miscellaneous administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
Have a passion and knowledge for coffee/tea and related products and equipment.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work independently or in teams.
High standards of excellence and the ability to work to high quality and customer service standards.
Outgoing and engaging personality with the ability to create excitement around our products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Prior café experience preferred but not required.
Ability to perform physical requirements of position.
Ability to work a early morning schedule.
Working Conditions:
Standing and walking for extended periods of time, up to 8-12 hours.
Bending, stooping and climbing.
Mental and physical dexterity.
The wage range for this position is $18.50 - $32.01 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers “Whole Benefits".
