Summary :

The Manager, Wound Care is responsible for the quality, access, and delivery of excellent wound care at ThedaCare. Manages daily operations and partners with the medical director of wound care to establish the standards of care and implement best practices. Analyzes, adjusts, and establishes financial, team member, and care delivery models to ensure a progressive clinic environment.

Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Effectively manages team members in a manner consistent with ThedaCare policies and values. Ensures the recruitment and retention of competent team members to meet the needs of the business operations of the department.

  • Is accountable for daily activities and work processes that result in quality outcomes.

  • Oversees and ensures accuracy of time and attendance and payroll practices.

  • Ensures quality and safety for team members, patients, and families.

  • Manages operations and team members to provide consistent experience and access in outpatient and inpatient wound care.

  • Develops key relationships with leaders within ThedaCare to align on strategic goals and ensure continuum of care.

  • Monitors productivity, revenue, and expenses to promote and uphold financial stewardship.

  • Provides analysis and ongoing improvement of daily operations.

  • Collaborates with wound care providers to support best practice and clinical excellence.

  • Supports the growth and development of the wound care services.

  • Utilizes and interprets literature in wound/ostomy care.

  • Identifies industry trends in practice, compliance, and coding.

  • Performs as department leader for quality improvement processes.

  • Recognizes trends in patient care delivery relating to wound and ostomy, and explores opportunities for improvement that are evidence-based.

  • Relies on evidence-based practice in development of policies and procedures based on comparison data benchmarks.

  • Advocates for patient rights and appropriate utilization of services and resources.

  • Develops and coordinates clinical implementation of the wound care program and technologies. 18. Ensures The Joint Commission standards, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations are met.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing

  • Five years of progressive responsibility in a healthcare setting

  • Three years of leadership experience to include leading teams and/or projects

  • Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin

  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance

  • Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Climate controlled office setting with daily movement throughout the facility

  • Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers
